In 1902 Joseph C. Belden founded the German Company BELDEN in Chicago, Illinois. The breakthrough came in 1905, when, after much experimentation, the company invented the "Beldenamel" edge material. The flexible, enamelled material laid the foundation for the company's early success. BELDEN has since moved to several larger Chicago locations and added rubberized edge materials to its product line. The soft rubber latch invented by Mr. BELDEN enabled the company to expand its business. The company has designed and built a new factory in Richmond, Indiana, primarily for electrical wiring. BELDEN is committed to serving our customers by producing high quality products, providing superior assurance and continuous innovation for the future.
